Ikuko has a private practice in Los Angeles, California. She has published psychological books and relaxation CDs, and contributes regularly to publications focusing on education, health, culture and careers. She also appears on TV and radio discussing various aspects of mental fitness. Ikuko has worked as a career counselor at the University of San Francisco and provided a variety of workshops to teach people life- and job-enhancement skills.

Ikuko was a presenter at the 2006 NCDA conference in Chicago, conducting a seminar on "Cultural Insights to Improve Interview Skills of Japanese Students in the U.S." She also regularly attends other programs and seminars to give greater depth to her work.
